Genesisworked closely with the City of Port St. Joe and District 3 FDOT to create streetscape enhancements on US 98 in the core downtown area of Port St. Joe. Commissioned through the FDOT, Genesis prepared Phase I landscape plans for a four block area between Cecil Costin Boulevard (SR-71) and Marina Drive. This work was prepared simultaneously with hardscape design which was commissioned through the City of Port St. Joe. Hardscape work included sidewalk furnishing zone design with pavers, benches and trash receptacles, and included coordination with Progress Energy to incorporate the locations for the new streetscape lighting into the plans. Work also included re-design of driveways to facilitate new parking areas for local businesses and the creation of planting areas to support a future east-west pedestrian corridor on Third Street. Landscape enhancements included Cabbage Palms with native ground cover and drip irrigation system for efficient use of water resources.
