Genesis, as a partner in a joint venture with a nationally-known traffic engineering specialist, developed plans and specifications to upgrade the Tallahassee Advanced Transportation Management System (TATMS). The system improvements included the development of design requirements and final design for a manned central control facility, communications equipment, field traffic signal equipment and television surveillance of the system arterials via an extensive fiber-optic network. This design work also included the preparation of plans, specifications and estimates for bid purposes.

The design and analysis included development of an integrated traffic control system including a state-of-the-art control center, 82 miles of fiber optic cable, 50 closed-circuit television camera assemblies and approximately 300 traffic signals.

The estimated cost of construction was $6,000,000.
