Genesis provided planning and design services in coordination with Kapsch TrafficCom IVHS, Inc. and World Fiber to design, build, and integrate the Managed Lane System (MLS) for both the North Tarrant Express (NTE) and LBJ Express projects in Dallas and Tarrant Counties in North Texas. The project scope for Kapsch encompasses delivery of a Toll Collection System (TCS), Intelligent Transportation System (ITS), and Network Communication System (NCS), creating a fully integrated MLS. The finished project will extend more than thirty miles of "managed lanes" – specifically used, administered and tolled lanes to arrange the traffic according to different requirements and demands – with sixty-five toll lanes and thirty-three toll zones.

Genesis in coordination with World Fiber Technologies, Inc., and Kapsch TrafficCom IVHS, Inc. is contributing to this multi-million dollar project by providing services to World Fiber to lay the foundation for the ground conduit and communication cabling to each device. Genesis provided the NTE ITS Equipment Location Plans denoting the station and offset structure on which the devices are mounted. Genesis also provided the NTE/LBJ ITS Equipment Mounting details illustrating the mounting of fixed and pan-tilt zoom Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) system camera, Microwave Vehicle Detector (MVD), Automatic Vehicle Identification (AVI) antenna, Over-Height Vehicle Detector (OHVD) devices, ITS Cabinets, UPS, Manual Transfer Switches, LED Toll Rate Signs, Dynamic Message Signs, and Toll Information Dynamic Message Signs. The equipment will be mounted to both existing and proposed structures.

Construction of Phase I of this project began in the second half of 2013, and is scheduled to be complete by 2016. The approximate total project is $4.7 Billion. Projects like this are critical to the successful delivery of new infrastructure within communities and the future economy.
