As part of our District-wide Landscape Architecture contract with FDOT District 3, this project in downtown Pensacola focuses on beautification of highly visible locations including the area where the I-110 ramps enter the city center at Garden Street, the area along Alcaniz Street between the Civic Center and overflow parking, and beneath the flyover ramps in this area. Landscape, irrigation and sidewalk improvements were included in the scope of services. Palms and flowering trees are prominent in the design, along with large oaks. A combination of native and flowering shrubs and groundcovers accentuate these areas of landscape. Beneath ramps where turf cannot grow, large sweeping beds of gravel in contrasting colors with limestone boulder accents are defined by ribbon curb.
