The goal of this Request for Qualifications is to procure professional engineering services to design, permit and produce construction documents inclusive of plans and specifications to provide a continuous trail and greenway space from the Lake Jackson Indian Mounds Archeological Park, on the north side of the lake, east of US Hwy-27 to Lake Ella.  The proposed work contains a combination of three connected Greenway Projects (Lake Jackson South Greenway, the Lake Jackson Greenway, and the Lake Ella Connector).

Project Components: Lake Jackson Greenway
This project encompasses a holistic approach to transportation capacity improvements and regional mobility, provides connectivity to existing and proposed amenities, and enhances the water quality of the Lake Jackson basin. These connections will use public lands and corridors unless indicated otherwise. A general list of project components is provided below.

Project Components: Lake Jackson South Greenway & Cycling Route
The proposed Lake Jackson South Greenway is an approximate 3.5-mile-long, 10’-12’ wide, shared-use path that connects a string of publicly-owned properties, including the Meginnis Arm Canoe Launch on the south end of Lake Jackson.  The path is intended to be constructed with a paved, stabilized, or otherwise weather resistant, stable surface.  The major components of the Lake Jackson South Greenway are described in the following sections.

Project Components: Lake Ella Connector Trail
A final trail will connect the Publix Shopping Center, Raa Middle School, and Ruediger Elementary School, as well as other commercial areas east of Monroe Street to Lake Ella.  This trail is proposed as a 1,300 linear feet long and 10-feet wide trail providing a shared-use path from the intersection of 10th Avenue and Martin Luther King Boulevard east through the shopping center parking lot to the intersection of N. Monroe Street and Lake Ella Drive.  A trail connection will be made via easement or acquisition between North Duval Street and North Monroe Street and a trail crossing of North Monroe Street to Lake Ella will be necessary. The trail also encompasses the east Duval Street Right of Way extending south from 10th Avenue to 8th Avenue.
