Community Design & Regional Planning

Looking at the big picture, when it comes to community design and regional planning, is one of the most exciting aspects of the work we do at Genesis Group. The opportunity to build a community from scratch or breathe new life into an existing community is both satisfying and challenging.

Whether we are working on a new development, urban retrofit or suburban infill, the goal is the same -- to create a walkable, sustainable, mixed use community, helping to rein in urban sprawl and reduce traffic congestion. Through the use of open space, appropriate architecture, and the balanced development of jobs and housing, "New Urbanism" communities can offer a safe, nurturing environment that foster a strong sense of community.

Genesis Group has been part of a number of successful "New Urbanism" community development and redevelopment efforts, as well as playing a key role in the design of specialty communities focusing on retirement, coastal, equestrian and aviation lifestyles. From working through the regulatory issues and marketing considerations to community design and infrastructure issues Genesis Group can truly take a project from vision to reality.

Another aspect of our work is assisting public and private groups in taking a forward looking approach at a multi-jurisdictional region or section of a particular county through regional and sector planning. Genesis Group helps to provide an accurate assessment of the area's current resources and identify growth constraints, opportunities for improvement and area’s of potential cooperation between the various stakeholders.
