Seminole Road is an historic road that has evolved over time rather than being planned and constructed. The existing stormwater system is outdated and undersized, with insufficient cross-drains and made up of several pipe types. The existing potable water system has reached capacity and needs to be expanded and upgraded. The intent of this project is not only to improve stormwater and water facilities, but to modernize and improve Seminole Road through streetscape improvements to enhance this primary entrance corridor to the City of Atlantic Beach.

Genesis Transportation Engineers, Landscape Architects and roadway designers prepared plans, specifications, estimates and secured permits for redevelopment of the roadway corridor. Improvements include a new 8’ wide paved multi-use path along the west side, a new 5’ wide sidewalk along the east side, roadway widening to two 11’ travel lanes, new curb and gutter, raised crosswalks, extensive landscaping and gateway structures.
