The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens is one of Jacksonville's premier cultural institutions. Cummer acquired the assistance of Genesis to improve the streetscape and to create a safer environment for visitors of the museum and the historic Riverside community.

The design called for the following improvements:

  • The removal of traffic lights where Riverside intersects Fisk and also at Post
  • Addition of roundabouts in place of traffic lights to support traffic calming and turning movements for the museum property
  • Improved pedestrian crosswalks and sidewalks to provide safer travel for visitors on foot
  • Design of a mid-block crossing including street and site elements to improve accessibility and aesthetics
  • Addition of ample space made available for those riding bicycles on the street
  • Parking lot improvements and overall landscape improvements to the area across the street from Cummer Museum
