Hilton Head Main Street Roundabout

The City of Hilton Head required the Home Owners Association to install a traffic signal at the intersection of Whooping Crane Drive (a four lane divided road) and Main Street (a two lane undivided street). Genesis Group helped the Home Owners Association Traffic Committee to adopt a roundabout instead of the traffic signal. Following a referendum by the Home Owners (84% approval) the roundabout was approved and constructed.

Since its opening the roundabout has exceeded expectations so much so that the City now requires all considerations for traffic control devices to consider roundabouts.
