St. Pete Beach - Citywide Landscape Improvements
The City of St. Pete Beach selected Genesis to design City-wide roadway landscape improvements, from the Pinellas Bayway Bridge to the south, throughout Gulf Boulevard and Blind Pass Road, and along 75th Avenue to the Corey Avenue Bridge.
Landscape and irrigation improvements include design for a mixture of both new and existing landscape medians and roadside areas. A bold statement was desired for this beachside community; therefore, specimen Medjool Date Palms became the centerpiece of design, with shrubs and groundcovers carefully selected for attractiveness, durability, ease of maintenance, and adherence to safety and setback criteria.
Extensive coordination with City staff and FDOT engineers and landscape architects occurred. Careful analysis of design criteria and client desires led to requesting and obtaining two design variations to achieve the City’s and Genesis’ vision.
