Bainbridge Downtown Linear Park

Genesis Group completed a Master Plan for the array of waterfront parks along the Flint River that extends from the City’s Boat Basin Park on the south to Cheney Griffin Park on the north. The project included connectivity issues between the Historic Downtown District and the City’s chain of waterfront parks.

The Master Plan included: revitalized Cheney Griffin Park, an Environmental Interpretation Center, enhancements to an existing amphitheater, a skate park, a 10’ multi-use trail along the river, a marina, a boat launch facility and associated parking, and a swim complex that included an outdoor park and a natatorium among other various smaller components. All components on the Master Plan are constructable solutions responding to existing site conditions. This approach enables detailed cost analysis the City is using to budget future phases of construction.

Genesis Group is currently working with the City to complete the survey, design, and construction inspection services for the City’s Downtown Streetscape Program. The project consists of approximately 1.5 miles of downtown sidewalk replacement and other streetscape enhancements. The new design includes improvements to pedestrian spaces while meshing with previously completed work.
