Bainbridge Downtown and Waterfront Revitalization

Genesis Group assisted the City of Bainbridge, Georgia in a visioning process and completed a Master Plan for the Flint River waterfront that extends from the City’s Boat Basin Park on the south to Cheney Griffin Park on the north. In addition, the project included a review of the connectivity issues associated with the wayfinding and pedestrian connections between the Historic Downtown District and the City’s chain of waterfront parks.

The Connectivity Master Plan included: revitalized Cheney Griffin Park, an Environmental Interpretation Center, enhancements to an existing amphitheater, a 10’ multi-use trail along the river, a marina, a boat launch facility and associated parking, and a swim complex that included an outdoor park and a natatorium among other various smaller components. All components shown on the Master Plan illustrate constructable solutions responding to existing site conditions. This design approach enabled detailed cost analysis the City could use to support budgeting and future phasing of construction.
