Bainbridge Downtown Streetscape, Phase II

This Transportation Enhancement (TE) project is the second phase funded through Georgia Department of Transportation and includes reconstruction of existing sidewalk along several city blocks in downtown Bainbridge. The new sidewalk will be decorative and will be enhanced through landscaping and decorative lighting. Street furniture will be added, including benches, tree grates and trash cans. The proposed landscaping will be irrigated through underground bubblers.

The streets and sidewalks in downtown Bainbridge are confined by buildings which abut the existing city right of way. Construction of this project includes reconnecting to building entrances, reconfiguring on-street parking and accommodating existing roof drains. Proposed trees, lights and street furniture must be placed so as not to restrict business activity.
