Bay County Transportation Center
Along with designing the Communications network for the Bay County ATMS project, Genesis has teamed with JRA Architects on this TMC design. The Genesis Group/JRA team is currently contracted with Bay County for the design of construction plans for the Bay County Advanced Transportation Management Center (TMC) in the new Administration Building on Eleventh Street in Panama City, Florida.
JRA Architects, Inc. is designing the new administration building and Genesis Group is designing and performing inspection on a Transportation Management Center. In addition, Genesis will design the functional requirements and write the specifications for the hardware and the software for the central system and the field equipment.
This TMC will support existing and planned traffic signal control upgrades/expansion and ITS deployment initiatives within the Bay County, Panama City region and FDOT district. This fiber optic network will allow direct communications from the TMC to all parts of the traffic system such as the controllers at the traffic signals, Dynamic Message Signs for traveler information, weather station information, emergency pre-emption and live streaming video from traffic cameras that will be placed at intersections as part of this project. TMC operators monitor live traffic conditions and have the ability to adjust the signal timing at each intersection to improve traffic flow or respond to a roadway incident.
