Orange Avenue Reconstruction

Genesis Group prepared plans and contract documents to reconstruct Orange Avenue from a two-lane roadway to a four-lane divided roadway. Major components of the project included:

• Replacing an existing signalized intersection with a 2-lane round-about;
• Enclosing nearly 4500’ ditch with a double 6' x 14’ concrete box culvert;
• In-street bike lanes;
• Sidewalks;
• Screening walls;
• Three signalized intersections;
• A 3-acre stormwater management facility with an extensive stormwater conveyance system.
• Roadway plans, structure plans, landscape plans and right-of-way maps were prepared utilizing CADD and were based on surveys completed with state-of-the-art electronic data collection systems. Total construction costs for this project was $23 million.
• Genesis also provided public involvement services, which included: preparation of exhibits; conducting public meetings; and attending homeowner association meetings. The right-of-way acquisition support services included:
  • Cost-to-cure analysis;
  • Mediation assistance; and
  • Expert witness testimony.
