New Port Richey Public Works Facility

For the County's new office and equipment center for this Department, the City stated that tree preservation and low water use were top priorities.  In cooperation with Architects Design Group, therefore, grading and site layout worked around existing vegetation.  Existing trees were incorporated into the design wherever feasible, and water requirements were reduced by using reclaimed water and mainly native and endemic species.  Of note, an existing 60" diameter Live Oak was carefully preserved using specialized techniques, despite its proximity to the entry drive and associated fill.  The result is a new facility that works well with the site, minimizes grading and other site disruption, looks good, and is easily maintainable.
