Roundabout Traffic Circle at 13th St. & Nuccio Blvd.

This project represents one of the first true roundabouts designed and constructed in the City of Tampa. The roundabout very successfully directs traffic efficiently and at more moderated speeds through what was once a very confusing and complicated intersection. In addition, the design provided for the connection of 13th Street to Nick Nuccio boulevard to the west. This connection had to consider the presence of a railroad right-of-way and crossing.

The landscape concept embodied the geometric pattern of the traffic roundabout and tree bosk’s of native cedar and Italian Cypress were used to formalize the approach to the circle.
