Genesis assisted the City of Tallahassee in developing a $50 million program to address issues related to neighborhood infrastructure revitalization. Candidate projects were identified through City and public input and were categorized into the following five (5) groups:
I – Reconstruction of Residential Streets
II – Reconstruction of Neighborhood Collector Streets
III – Residential Sidewalks
IV – Arterial/Collector Sidewalks
V – Miscellaneous Project Improvements
Projects were ranked based on safety, proximity to pedestrian generators, maintenance frequency and compatibility with current revitalization initiatives. A series of public meetings were held throughout the City to inform the public on the specific nature of this new program and to refine the project list.
Genesis prepared presentation materials, developed web pages and constructed an information kiosk to assist the City with informing citizens and getting input into program development. Extensive field investigations were performed to identify project need, verify project limits, and to evaluate construction issues. Detailed project descriptions were prepared and maps of each project were completed utilizing Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
