As part of an on-going consultant services contract for the City, Genesis Group provided civil engineering and related services for the Howard Avenue Drainage Project.  Howard Avenue between 10th and 12th Avenues experienced chronic flooding, even during minor rain events.  The area receives run-off from 92 acres of residential development, yet was drained via stormwater pumping station w/ very limited capacity.

The project was divided into phases to meet budget constraints. The first phase reduced flooding during minor rain events by adding storm inlets, replacing conveyance piping, and constructing a stormwater pond. Once constructed, Phase II will increase the system's capacity by upgrading the stormwater pump station's pumps and controls. This project phase involved water line replacement, sewer line replacement and roadway restoration.

Genesis Group was able to obtain a SWFWMD permit exemption for all of the above referenced work.
