Franklin Boulevard Flood Warning System
Genesis Group researched, designed and detailed an advance flood warning system for this flood prone corridor. The four lane roadway, with a large lined ditch within its median, experiences flash flooding frequently. The system includes stilling basins and depth monitors along the channel, calibrated to advise motorists of actual and impending flooding along Franklin Boulevard. The sensors activate changeable message signs and flashing beacons throughout the vicinity to warn the public of flooding and the need for using alternate routes. The completed system includes three sensors and twenty signs. All of the components are solar powered and all communication is done via radio transmissions. The project is complete and operational.
