Indian Rocks Beach Nature Preserve

Design, public involvement proceedings, and construction document preparation for a 13 acre neighborhood park fronting the intercostal waterway. The design program calls for improving the site to develop as a natural coastal preserve featuring upland and wetland elements which may be accessed through a series of boardwalks and observation tower. The boardwalks and observation tower will provide for interpretive and educational displays describing plant and animal habitats which are characteristic of a marine coastal environment.

The challenge of developing design improvements appropriate for this site was to design and construct the improvements without adverse impacts to the site. Site improvements also include parking, lighting, community center, restrooms, and outdoor amphitheater.
