G. Brian Wheeler, RLA, CNU and Louise B. Ambrose, Esq. will be giving a presentation entitled "Sustainability in Design, Development and Community Retrofit" at the 2011 ASLA Tri-State Conference.
Sustainability in Design, Development and Community Retrofit examines innovative bio‐technologies with practical applications in the landscape architecture and planning industries that support low impact design/development (LID) practices which conserve and protect water resources within urban, suburban and rural environments. Overall, Genesis will deliver a presentation on successful, practicable, and environmentally sound methodologies that:
- Avoid excess nutrient loading into stormwater management facilities
- Aid energy and water conservation
- Support Best Management Practices (BMPs) and applications for community retrofit and/or new development, and open space design
- best available technologies, particularly for landscape architects (LA) seeking to expand their practice in the field or sustainability and green systems
The Tri-State ASLA Conference, celebrating its 25 Anniversary, is being held April 28th-30th 2011 at the W. Atlanta-Buckhead Hotel in Atlanta, GA. for ASLA members from Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina regions.
