Learn how one Florida developer is planning a 3,000-acre renewable energy and eco-industrial research park in eastern Hillsborough County by reclaiming a phosphate mining site. This session will discuss the infrastructure necessary to support such a project, energy technologies to be developed on-site, and plans for working cooperatively with the adjacent agricultural community.
The Renewable Energy Production Facilities of the Park are Estimated to Employ 600+ "Legacy" Workers. Adoption of a new land use category and expansion of the Urban Service Area boundary were needed to support the proposed development, and will be discussed.
