Genesis' own Bruce Kaschyk, AICP will be speaking at the APA Florida 2010 Conference being held in Tampa Florida from September 14-17, 2010 at the beautiful Tampa Convention Center.

The presentation, worth 1.5 CM credits, entitled Making Renewable Energy Work, will be given on Wednesday, September 15th, from 2:30pm - 3:45pm.

Making Renewable Energy Work

Learn how one Florida developer is planning a 3,000-acre renewable energy and eco-industrial research park in eastern Hillsborough County by reclaiming a phosphate mining site. This session will discuss the infrastructure necessary to support such a project, energy technologies to be developed on-site, and plans for working cooperatively with the adjacent agricultural community.

The park is expected to create at least 500 permanent jobs and hundereds more during the construction process. Adoption of a new land use category and expansion of the Urban Service Area boundary were needed to support the proposed development, and will be discussed.
