Genesis Planner Joe Loretta weighs in on Hospitality Zone planned for Jacksonville Beach

Genesis' Joseph Loretta, RLA, was recently quoted by the Florida Times-Union in an article by Teresa Stepzinski about how Jacksonville Beach is looking to make their downtown more hospitable for visitors and residents.

From Stepzinsk's article:

"The presentation had merit", said Joseph Loretta, associate vice president of Genesis, a Florida-based firm with a Jacksonville office that offers planning, engineering, landscape architecture, urban design and construction engineering inspection services.

"It referenced that we need to be thinking multi-generational. And that all things aren't bad," said Loretta, noting the presentation addressed the reality versus the perception of downtown. "I think that is something that maybe a lot of people just tend to think a lot of things are bad right off the bat."

The potential of public-private partnerships, Loretta said, should be explored as part of the process. "I just think that Jacksonville Beach just really needs to create a public-private partnership to manage the open space in downtown Jacksonville Beach such as what’s going on at 220 Riverside," he said.
